Verse of the day: Hebrews 11:1

Reflection

Faith is described here as substance and evidence, solid words for things not yet seen. The chapter that follows is a list of ordinary people who acted on promises before they saw them kept.

Prayer

God, strengthen my faith to act on your promises today, even before I see how they'll be kept. Amen.

In context · Hebrews 11:1–3

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
