Verse of the day: Isaiah 40:31

Reflection

Waiting on the Lord isn't passive. The picture is of strength being traded in: our tired strength for his renewed strength, sometimes soaring, sometimes just walking without fainting.

Prayer

Lord, I'm tired. Renew my strength for whatever this day asks, even if all I can do is keep walking. Amen.

In context · Isaiah 40:29–31

He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
