Bible Verses for Advent

What is a good Bible verse for Advent?

Advent readings look forward to Christ's coming. Isaiah 9:2 promises a great light to “The people that walked in darkness”, Isaiah 40:3 calls us to “Prepare ye the way of the LORD”, Micah 5:2 names Bethlehem as the birthplace of the coming ruler, and Romans 13:11–12 says “The night is far spent, the day is at hand”.

I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.
