How to Play VerseFlip Daily, a Bible Wordle

VerseFlip Daily is a free daily Bible game, a little like Wordle for the Bible. Everyone gets the same King James Version verse each day, and your job is to work out which of the 66 books of the Bible it comes from.

The rules

  • Pick a book from the list. You have 6 guesses.
  • Each guess gets a square: đźź© the right book, 🟨 the right section of the Bible but the wrong book, ⬜ a different section.
  • An arrow points toward the answer: ⬇ means it comes later in the Bible, ⬆ earlier. You also see roughly how far away it is (within 3 books, 4–10 books, or more than 10) and whether it’s in the Old or New Testament.
  • Every hint is written out in words too, so you never need to tell the colours apart.
  • Find the book and you get a bonus round: guess the chapter in 3 tries, with “higher” or “lower” after each guess.

Easier early in the week

Monday and Tuesday use well-known verses. Wednesday to Saturday come from the Gospels, Psalms and Proverbs. Sunday can come from anywhere in the Bible. Verses that name their own book, lists of names, and verses that appear word for word in two books are left out.
